Consider this Teacher a Hero

It’s mind boggling.

And “it” is the thought of looking outside and seeing a monstrous tornado barreling down on you and your students. That’s exactly what Tammy Glasglow, a second grade teacher, experienced earlier this week in Oklahoma. Thankfully, she, and all of her kids, came out of the ordeal relatively unharmed. Granted, an experience such as this is bound to take an enormous emotional toll.

Tammy was on CNN yesterday sharing her experience with a reporter… and she just so happened to be wearing her Oklahoma Home T-shirt while doing so. And that’s pretty darn cool! Watch her amazing story below.

The Oklahoma Home T-shirt and Home Tote Bag

It may not be the most famous state in some peoples eyes, but Oklahoma most definitely has a recognizable shape.

The Oklahoma Home T is a great way to show off your state pride, while also helping raise money for multiple sclerosis research. Not to mention it’s an insanely soft shirt. As in, it will probably be one of the softest t-shirts you’ve ever owned.

And if you’re wondering, yes, it’s 100% made in the USA.

Add Your Own Touch of Style

The Home T is a unisex shirt, and while plenty of men and women have submitted photos of themselves wearing the shirt, the women have definitely managed to stand out.

And the primary reason is because of how so many women are styling their Home T.

For instance, did you ever think of styling your T with a hot pink pencil skirt?

Hey Look… It’s Ben Affleck

Yes, it’s expensive as all get out to live in New York City, but it really is the land of possibility.

For instance, I was headed to the gym last night and just so happened to see Ben Affleck posing for a picture with a fan.

State Fact: Wisconsin & The Ice Cream Sundae

For some reason, when I think about an ice cream sundae the first thing that comes to mind is a McDonalds Hot Fudge Sundae, with nuts of course.

I guess it’s a childhood memory that has stuck in my mind.

McDonalds_Hot_Fudge_Sundae_1But did you know the ice cream sundae was somewhat of an organized accident?

Apparently, serving ice cream on Sundays used to be illegal.

Seriously.

So, in 1881, to get around the law, the ice cream sundae was created in Wisconsin to get around the law.

There’s only one way to celebrate this fact, and that’s to go get a, in my case, McDonalds sundae today.

We Believe in Quality

May032013_5283Quality. It’s something we believe in, and always aim to deliver.

There are a plethora of t-shirt styles we could have chosen for The Home T, but we picked the current shirt for three primary reasons:

  1. Fantastic quality
  2. Great fit
  3. Feels amazing to wear

We tried on a ton of different t-shirts, but the reality was this: if we wouldn’t wear it ourselves, we certainly couldn’t expect that you’d want to wear it.

There were also some very soft options, but they weren’t exactly forgiving in certain areas.

But when we put our current shirt on, we just knew it was the perfect shirt. We wore it. We washed it. We dried it. Wore it some more. Had friends wear it. And everyone loved it.

So when you buy your Home T, know that you are getting a quality product that has been well thought out, and “people approved.

The Best Type of Message

It’s always great to hear from our customers, and we especially love to hear from our friends in the military. Here’s a perfect example,

“I am currently serving in the worlds GREATEST Airforce away from my home state. I am SOOO excited to have another way to rep my home state and also donate to great cause! Cant wait to get my T-shirt and maybe order more as gifts for my military friends.”

Knowing that our little t-shirt is making a soldier feel more connected to home while abroad… that’s flat out amazing.

Why does The Home. T Donate to Multiple Sclerosis Research?

The Home. T donates a portion of its profits to multiple sclerosis research, and someone emailed recently asking why we do so.

There are plenty of reasons why, some hitting closer to home than others, but at the end of the day it’s nasty disease that can impact anyone, at just about any time, and donating to the cause is a top priority.

One of my first experiences with multiple sclerosis was in my early 20’s. My girlfriend at the time had a cousin with the disease, and it just so happened that we were pretty much the same age, and shared the same name, Ryan. The disease negatively impacted Ryan very quickly and he was already bound to a wheelchair by the time I met him. To this day, thinking about him is still a bit mind boggling.

That’s me after finishing my first Tour to Tanglewood.

Once I met Ryan I started doing a bike ride back home called the Tour to Tanglewood – one of the rides that benefits the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – and that was my first experience with trying to raise money for the cause.

Fast forward a number of years, and there are other people now in my life that are also impacted by multiple sclerosis. When my fiancée and I started the company, the thought of donating a portion of The Home. T’s profits to multiple sclerosis research was practically a no-brainer.

We know that our efforts are just a drop in the bucket, but as you know, if you get enough drops in the bucket, it will eventually become full.

Hitting the Marks with Sizing

The Home T is a high-quality t-shirt and you’ll find that the fit, and comfort level, are amazing.

But when it comes to fit, we’d love to help you get the right size. The shirts give you the right amount of room in all the right areas, and are also long enough, without being too long, to be to almost everyone’s liking.

Our sizing page features sizing measurements, as well as a male and female model and their measurements. In addition, the page shows the two models in the correct and incorrect sizes. We will use images from that page to help you better understand how the shirts should fit.

This size is spot on for the model. She has plenty of room for comfort, and you’ll notice that the shoulder lines are spot on and the sleeves don’t overwhelm her arms. Take a look at the image below of the model wearing The Home T in the wrong size.

Notice how the shoulder lines are way off? Notice all of the extra fabric under the armpit area Notice how the shirt doesn’t give her body much form? There’s also plenty of extra fabric by her waist that could easily be unflattering.

So, before you buy your Home T, feel free to consult our sizing page; we’d love to help you get the perfect fit!

Note: The Home T does not come in red or blue. The two colors were used to make it easier to differentiate the fit of each size.

Dressing Up The Home T

Many people think of a t-shirt as a casual item, but The Home T can easily be dressed up. You can easily wear it with a nice pair of denim and a blazer and you’ve instantly dressed up your overall look.

The photo below of Samantha in the California Home T is a great example of how this can be pulled off. And guys, you can do the exact same thing.

As you can tell, it’s very simple to dress up The Home T. Have fun with it, and don’t forget to send us a photo of yourself!
